Hello

Greetings from Eddie Lawler, aka “The Bard of Saltaire”. That’s a bit flattering, but I'm trying to live up to it. I write songs, musicals, poems and plays.  Some of this can be described as "local" but my interests are general.

6th album of songs just launched, includes Canal Child. Click on the name, wait a little while for the video with the children from Saltaire Primary School to load, enjoy...... The album title song is "Saltaire 'll Do" - click for a listen!

Browse my website for samples of my work and details of other things I get up to. My work mixes fun with ‘serious’ social comment, intended to provide thought-provoking entertainment........

Here if you wish are 30 mins of chat and music at BCB Radio

HERE  is "King of the Frogs" written by an ancient Greek who allegedly was thrown off a cliff for his challenging beliefs. And HERE (if it's too fast for you) is the lyric to read as you listen.

Listen to the recording (one hour in length) of my radio-play about Wolfgang Borchert:  "Messenger Without Weapon".  (It takes a short while to upload)

Some of you asked for the Brontë Railrap - click for it! It's part of "Tracking The Brontës" - a whistle-stop tour with soprano Charissa Hutchins of some of the places they visited, performed 2016 in Leeds, Saltaire, Ilkley and at Kirkstall Abbey to sumptuous praise (see Reviews page) In 2017 we took it to the Old Stables, Adel Church in March, to Haworth West Lane in April, to St Peter's Shipley in May. On we go to Rawdon Library July 27, to Cookridge U3A in November, and maybe elsewhere, see Current Dates page

Did the new Brighouse Arts Festival with Two Tykes on t' Loose with Rod Dimbleby, see Reviews page. This also has 2017 bookings, as does my musical support for Steve Bottoms' "Salt's Waters"

All my CD's and books are now available via the Saltaire World Heritage online shop.
